The 116th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 7th May 1924 over the Rowley Mile, was Diophon (11/2), a chestnut colt by Grand Parade out of Donneta, owned by HH Aga Khan III. The winner won by a head in 1 minute 39.00 secs, with a neck back to the third. A field of 20 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £280,300 in 2017)
